This is the beginning of four events that spread over 3 days. Mike, Rick, and David scheduled a lunch in the private dinning room car for the family group. We had a grand time at all the events that included a few close friends.
After Labor Day we will drive to Deadwood SD to attend an All Deadwood High School Reunion and have a 50+ Reunion with Florence and Boyd/Marian. Jimmy O/Jutta will be in Nebraska and may make it to Rapid City but the schedule is tight.
Picture shows l to r: Mike, Meg, Sherill, David, Me, and Rick with Dale and Seth in front.

Black Hills Wild Chokecherry
Remember the exquisite flavor these berries of the plum family give to jam or jelly? Served on hot toast, pancakes, or French toast is very close to heaven. You can still find and buy pretty good commercial products but home made is the best.

Hot Springs Classic Thermometer
This classic thermometer was before Uncle Gordon changed the Hot Springs business to his name. Look at the telephone number "40". That was not that long ago. We commonly dial 10 numbers now. Think of all the telephone numbers we have linked to each of us.

Email from Jimmy G. Huntington
I am posting an email from Jimmy G. Huntington with his permission. It is encouraging that there is interest in the family site and idea that we get more of the new generation of family incorporated into the site.
"Dear Dick, Thank you for all the helpful emails.I will start to make use of them soon. The main reason I am writing is that I tried to vote on the status of the blog and when I tried to log my vote, three times ,mind you(lol),it came back non-processable.So,I am sending you my vote.I love the site and would hate to see it go.Although,I haven't posted anything yet,I would love to see newer family members add more as well.I would love to know how far and wide my family extends. If you could, please register my vote, and, keep up the good work.
Thank You,
Jimmy G. Huntington"
