On Saturday Seth competed in his summer league swimming championships. He won an individual gold metal and anchored his relay races. He and Dale spent the night with Uncle Mike and then had a big adventure Sunday. They joined approximately 60,000 people for a once-in-a-lifetime walk across the new mile long Tacoma Narrows Bridge. From there they took in the dinosaur show http://www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/story/108200.html at the Tacoma Dome.
Mike's report follows:
"The Dinosaurs were unbelievable. Life-sized, looked and moved like they were real. Amazing sound and light show. When the mommy T-Rex came out at the end to protect her baby, my heart stopped. When she roared, our bones rattled. The kids were on the edge of their seats. We were in the front row. Had to look straight up when the dinos leaned over the edge of the stage. Their tails swooped over head when they turned.
The bridge was a deal, too. Never seen such a mass of people. Caught the bus at the Tacoma Comm College. Kids loved the bus ride as much as the bridge. They dropped us off about 1/2 mile away at the top of the hill going down to the structure. We walked out to halfway point. Looked over the edge and looked up at the columns. It was like standing under King Kong."
